The AUTM Essentials of Technology Transfer Course provides an overview of the essential aspects of technology transfer. This course is designed for individuals who are new to technology transfer. The workshops follow the lifecycle of invention disclosure, ultimately resulting in licensing to established companies and startups, while highlighting the differing perspectives, issues and concerns between industry, academia and government labs.

Intellectual Property for Technology Transfer Professionals
This course examines the patent process and other forms of intellectual property (IP) protection in the context of federal technology transfer. It will provide detailed information on how to protect intellectual property in federal laboratories, with a focus on the patent process; summarize ownership rights to IP developed under government contracts; explain the major laws affecting IP in federal labs; and explain the types of rights collaborators typically want and how to work with them within the law. AUTM Technology Valuation Course
The AUTM Technology Valuation Course teaches the fundamental principles of how to construct the various financial terms that go into a license. The course examines concepts such as valuation versus pricing and risk, as well as a series of valuation methodologies, including cost, income, industry standards (comparables), rules of thumb, discounted cash flow and equity.
CRADA
This will be a shortened version of the full day course. With seasoned experts and a bevy of examples, you’ll learn all about the CRADA and how it works. We’ll cover:
T2 Mash Up
This course offers participants a technology transfer (T2) sampler of current information from the private and public sector to inform licensing and partnership formation activities. The session starts with the Top 10 Court Cases in the field of intellectual property licensing and moves to presentations of three examples of forward leaning applications of T2 legislation from federal labs.
Leveraging Lessons and Best Practices of the Venture World for Better T2
This session will be led by FedTech Founder and startup guru Ben Solomon and will focus on exposing participants to skills and mindsets from the venture world. Participants should expect an interactive session that focuses on teaching:
