On behalf of the FLC, Vice Chair Jackie Kerby Moore and I would like to thank all this year’s attendees, training instructors, speakers, panelists, exhibitors and supporters for their help and participation in making the national meeting a success! With 433 technology transfer (T2) professionals in attendance, 235 of which took part in training day, we’re proud to call this the premier federal T2 event of the year.
This year’s sessions and speakers shared significant insight into what is on the horizon for American innovation and federal labs. And, one takeaway that we can all agree on is that change is here for the T2 community. Change that is designed to enhance all of agency and laboratory missions through T2. The FLC is also evolving to parallel the changes taking place throughout our community. Our mission to Promote, Educate, and Facilitate federal technology transfer is more focused than ever.
Other notable takeaways came from the Town Hall and other interactive sessions. It is clear that our members need marketing and communication support when promoting T2 to laboratory leadership. We also learned that training certification, networking time and in-person meetings are extremely beneficial when it comes to strategizing new ways to approach T2. The feedback gained during this year’s sessions is quantifiable data we are using to better serve you, our members and partners.
The FLC will continue to shape our tools, services, resources and initiatives in ways that will benefit our members’ T2 efforts. We look forward to growing, learning, and communicating all FLC mission milestones and platform developments with you as we work to advance innovation.
To all those who attended the 2019 FLC national meeting, we thank you. Your active participation is paramount in our ongoing mission to help the T2 community thrive.
