Dr. Robert Griesbach received a PhD in genetics from Michigan State University in 1980. The following year, he joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and conducted a broad-based research program in plant genetics and breeding. In 2007, Rob joined the USDA-ARS Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) as the Technology Transfer Coordinator and a few years later became the OTT Deputy Assistant Administrator. As Deputy, he coordinated programs to optimize the transfer of research results to the private sector and other users for development and commercialization. He also provided leadership and policies advice for the management of the Agency’s intellectual property. In September 2020, Rob retired from Federal service. He was recently brought back to OTT as a contractor. Rob served in many roles in the FLC, including a term as Mid-Atlantic Region Coordinator.
