Kathleen McDonald has worked in federal technology transfer for more than 20 years. Since 2020, she has been the Division Leader and Program Director of the Richard P. Feynman Center for Innovation (FCI) at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Prior to that she was the deputy division leader and has led business development and intellectual property management teams as well as licensing for the division. She’s been active in the FLC since 2007. Her current interests and focus are on implementing the process of customer discovery and identifying avenues to demonstrate federally-funded R&D to move technologies into the marketplace. She also has a keen interest in software solutions for technology transfer offices to enable seamless marketing campaigns and business transactions to effect broader impact from technologies transitioned from the federal sector.
