Creating a Rainforest in the Desert: How Collaborative Spaces Catalyze Tech Transfer Partnerships

The Lobo Rainforest is a collaborative public-private partnership between the University of New Mexico, the City of Albuquerque, and a private development team. It is designed to encourage organizational cooperation and accelerate the commercialization of intellectual capital to generate successful startup companies. Residents, including Sandia National Labs, Los Alamos National Lab, the Air Force Research Lab, and UNMâs Innovation Academy, discuss the impact this space has on the community and on their work.
