Sarah Buttrick started her career at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY) in 2009 and graduated from Bryant University with a BS in Business Administration that same year. She has held positions in Quality Assurance and Nuclear Material Support. In January 2017, she accepted a position in the Business and Strategic Planning Office. Shortly after PNSY achieved Federal Technology Transfer Laboratory status in 2017, Sarah was selected as the Strategic Planning and T2 Branch Head. She became the Shipyard’s representative for Research and Technology Applications in December 2018 and was selected as the Technology Insertion Manager in April 2019.
Sarah’s portfolio consists of efforts that bring technology into the work practices of Shipyard employees. This includes Lead Shipyard for advancing Shipboard Robotic Solutions (for submarine maintenance), additive manufacturing, and automation of work practices while increasing safety for the workforce.
