Portland is a vibrant city offering a range of activities including a walkable downtown, diverse neighborhoods, access to the arts, shopping, cultural attractions, and a creative food and drinking scene found in the many restaurants and pubs. Below are a few attractions to start planning your free time during the 2020 FLC National Meeting.
Powell’s City of Books: Taking up an entire city block, Powell’s was founded in 1971 and has grown into one of Portland’s landmarks as it is the world’s largest new and used bookstore. Open every day and located in the heart of the city.

Portland Saturday Market: A beloved Rose City tradition since 1974, this market is the largest continually operating fair in the U.S. Open from March through December 24th, the Portland Market carries artisan products, music, and great food. Great for sampling delicious bites, shopping, and people watching.

Cruise the rivers
Portland is conveniently located at the intersection of two rivers, which means you’ll have twice as many opportunities to see this area’s beautiful scenery from a unique perspective. Take a brunch or dinner cruise up the Columbia river gorge or a Willamette River cruise into wine country!
Portland Rose Garden
The oldest official continuously operated public rose test garden in the United States, the Portland Rose Garden, features more than 10,000 roses and a view of Mt. Hood.
